Diamond Hill Crystal Mine-26 Noveber 2013

Diamond Hill Crystal Mine
This year for Thanksgiving we found ourselves alone for the holiday. Rather than cook a big meal for just the two of us we decided to take a trip to the Diamond Hill Mine in Antreville, South Carolina. This mine is located on six acres and has a variety of  quartz crystals to include, smokey, skeletal, milky, and amethyst. This is a very unique because normally in one location this many different crystals are not found and especially not in such a small area.
We were not sure we would be able to dig at the site due to a huge storm that came through the area but as it was the rain came through the area and on Thanksgiving day the sun came out and while there was an abundance of ice on the ground in the morning but by late afternoon the ice turned the mine area into a nice mud mine.
We had were successful in that we found a good amount of material and at least one of each type of crystals found in the mine.
